Squirrel Removal
There are multiple species of squirrel in the Nashville area, but the most common is the gray squirrel. Squirrels can be found in every neighborhood, park, wooded area, and even in the city streets. They have adapted well to human invasion, and even take advantage of the structures we build. Squirrels have a wide diet of tree buds, bark, nuts, bird seed, berries, insects, discarded human food (trash), eggs, and even other small rodents.
Squirrels produce a litter of young twice annually with a litter that usually consists of four young. They live in holes in trees, nests made of leaves and sticks in the branches of trees, and even homes.
The proper method of removing squirrels from your home is to trap the resident squirrels. IF the resident squirrels are not removed from the area the odds of getting squirrels again is increased. Mother squirrels have 2 litters a year and will reuse the same location for each litter. She will raise the litter until they are big enough to survive on their own. She will then abandon the nest area until the next breeding season. This is why trapping and removing the squirrels is crucial to solving the problem long term. Squirrels not removed can chew back into the house again. One-way doors are not a good solution for mother squirrels raising their young.

Squirrel Problems

- Chew holes in roofs and soffits to gain access to your attic
- Once inside, they can chew on electrical wires
- Displace insulation by removing it from your attic or smashing it down
- Holes chewed in the roof can cause water damage to your ceiling
- Chew through the inner walls to gain access to your living space

“We called Joe late on a Saturday night when we discovered a bat (!) in our home. Unlike a few other services I found that claimed to have 24 hour service, Joe answered the phone himself and came right out. He trapped the bat quickly and removed it. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He was also very understanding and calmed our anxiety by arranging to have the bat tested for rabies, though the risks are very small. At our request, he also came out the next day to inspect our basement and attic for possible entry points and signs of other bats. Luckily, it appears that our bat was alone. Hopefully we will not have any more unwanted guests, but if we do, Joe will definitely be our first call”
